This classic canoe event returns to Lake Santa Caterina. 600 athletes from 9 Nations, prelude to the U23 and Junior Canoe Sprint World Championships
assigned to Auronzo in 2023.
From Friday 2nd to Sunday 4th July, Lake Santa Caterina in Auronzo di Cadore (BL) will host the 40th edition of the International Sprint Canoe Race for the U16, Junior, Senior, Master and Paracanoe categories.
The international competition every year hosts hundreds of athletes from all over the world and from Italian canoe clubs. To celebrate this important anniversary, from this year the race will also host foreign clubs who want to participate in the event with their athletes (until 2019, foreign crews could only compete as national representatives).
The competition program includes heats, semi-finals and finals over the distance of 1,000 mt. (Friday), 500 mt. (Saturday) and 200 mt. (Sunday).
Registrations officially closed on Thursday 24 June, but this edition, even taking into account the restrictions of the federal Covid Protocol to be respected, is on a par of the 2017 and 2019 editions, thanks to over 20 foreign representatives from Germany (national team and 9 clubs), Switzerland (national team and 2 clubs), Austria (national team), Slovenia (national team and 3 clubs), Belgium (national team), Tunisia (national team), Czech Republic (1 club) and Poland (1 club) for a total of approximately 150 foreign athletes. The Italian national team will also be present together with over 50 Italian clubs.
The Organising Committee has as its reference the Venice Canoe & Dragon Boat sports association, a club founded in Venice in 2003, and is in close collaboration with the Municipality of Auronzo di Cadore.
Particular attention was paid by the organisation to welcoming foreign clubs / teams, both in terms of accommodation and in terms of technical sports assistance. And specific attention has also been given to the health aspect. CONI Veneto and the Veneto Region have guaranteed the availability of about 800 Covid-19 swabs.
The preparation work of the event area will begin this week, with the preparation and assembly of the competition field.
The arrival of the first clubs/teams is expected from Wednesday 30 June.

Campionati Regionali canoa velocità e fondo
presso Le Bandie - Spresiano (TV), 12 e 13 giugno 2021
Weekend dedicato a canoa e kayak quello del 12-13 giugno grazie ai Campionati Regionali Veneti tenutisi nella spettacolare location del Lago Le Bandie del Comune di Spresiano (TV).
332 equipaggi, per totali 447 atleti appartenenti a 20 delle principali società venete, dal Lago di Garda alla Laguna di Venezia, si sono dati battaglia per l’assegnazione di quasi 100 titoli regionali, nelle discipline della velocità, del fondo (Canoagiovani, Senior e Master) e della paracanoa.
Largo spazio a bambini e ragazzi, protagonisti nelle categorie dai 9 ai 18 anni. Organizzazione della manifestazione a cura di Venice Canoe & Dragonboat Asd con il supporto del Comitato Veneto della Federazione Italiana Canoa Kayak. Una 2 giorni di sport all’aria aperta realizzato nel rispetto di tutti i protocolli Covid previsti, e che non può che essere una vera e propria “boccata di ossigeno” verso una sempre più ampia ripresa di tutte le attività sportive agonistiche e amatoriali.
Ospite della manifestazione il sig. REMO MOSOLE, proprietario del Gruppo Mosole SpA, vero “paròn de casa” che da molti anni ospita presso la sua proprietà manifestazioni sportive come questa. L’area è già nota per il Centro Nuoto con piscina olimpica, e per il progetto di costruzione di un velodromo nei pressi del lago, che si avvierebbe a divenire una location sportiva d’eccellenza in ambito regionale. Mosole ha voluto salutare i partecipanti alle gare invitandoli ad amare e rispettare l’oasi naturale che li ha accolti.
Non è mancato l’apporto del Comune di Spresiano, presente nella figura del Sindaco MARCO DELLA PIETRA che ha presenziato e rimarcato l’interesse della sua amministrazione per questo genere di manifestazioni sul proprio territorio.
I Campionati hanno assegnato complessivamente quasi 100 titoli, ad altrettanti nuovi campioni regionali, e hanno visto primeggiare nella classifica generale a punti per Società:
- Gare di velocità (200-1000mt) l’ASD CANOA CLUB SAN DONÀ (230.0 pt) davanti all’ASD CANOTTIERI PADOVA (149.0 pt) e CANOTTIERI MESTRE ASD (129.0 pt.).
- Gare di fondo (2000-5000mt) l’ASD CANOA CLUB SAN DONÀ (75.0 pt) di misura sull’ASD CANOTTIERI PADOVA (74.0 pt) e sull’ASSOCIAZIONE REMIERA PESCHIERA ASD (61.0 pt.).
Prossimo appuntamento con la canoa presso il Lago di Auronzo, che dal 2 al 4 luglio ospiterà Ia 40° edizione della Gara Internazionale di Canoa Sprint, sempre per l’organizzazione esperta di Venice Canoe & Dragonboat Asd.
